- To Add ResColors you need 2 copies of ResEdit 1.2, one to do the work, and one
- copy to add the new resources to. You cannot of course work on the running
- copy.
-
- In most cases you open the resources in ResColors and shift-click to
- select all the resources ID's within a specific resource type and copy
- them to the clipboard. Then open the same resource in ResEdit and
- paste the new resources into ResEdit.
-
- I have identified the resources within ResColors that will replace existing
- resources within a specific resource type, when ResEdit indicates that a
- resources of the same ID exists, you can click ok to replace them.
-
- Adding ResColors to ResEdit 1.2
-
- The ResColors file contains 8 resources that you add to a "Copy"
- of ResEdit 1.2.
-
- These are the resources names:
-
- CPAK - This is a "new" resource that you copy and paste into directly into
- ResEdit.
-
- CURS - The resources within this resource are copied and pasted to an
- existing resource in ResEdit.
-
- LDEF - The LDEF resources you copy and paste into ResEdit will "replace"
- some, not all existing resources.
-
- MENU - The resources within this resource are copied and pasted to an
- existing resource in ResEdit.
-
- PICT - The resources within this resource are copied and pasted to an
- existing resource in ResEdit.
-
- RSSC - The RSSC resources you copy and paste into ResEdit will "replace"
- some, not all existing resources.
-
- STR - The resources within this resource are copied and pasted to an
- existing resource in ResEdit.
-
- vers - The ID on these resources are 1 & 2. The ID of the vers Resource
- in ResEdit 1.2 is 1. I did a "Get Info" on the vers resource in ResEdit and
- changed it to a "0" and copied and pasted the vers resources in from
- ResColors.
-
- After you have copied and pasted all the resources from the ResColors file
- into a copy of ResEdit save the file. You can now edit cicn's and icl4, icl8
- color icons in a way you have never been able to before.
-
- I am not sure but I have read that this requires the use of 32-bit color
- quickdraw from the Apple color disk for it to function properly. So you may
- need to locate this file.
